1.)  I'm getting the error message "eSellerateEngine not installed" when I try to purchase or update Portfolio Sleuth V1.0 within the application.  How can I fix this?

2.)  When I try to install the demo copy of Portfolio Sleuth, I get the following message: "This setup requires the .NET Framework version 1.1.4322. Please install the .NET Framework and run this setup again. The .NET Framework can be obtained fom the web. Would you like to do this now?"  After I click on "Yes" button the web browser sends me to this page: http://www.microsoft.com/err/italy/msdn/prodotti/netframework/download/default . Can You please help me somehow?

Answers:

1.)  I'm getting the error message "eSellerateEngine not installed" when I try to purchase or update Portfolio Sleuth V1.0 within the application.  How can I fix this?

Answer:  Portfolio Sleuth V1.0 which was downloaded prior to April 5th 2006 had a problem with the installation package which didn't allow purchasing or automatic updating of the software.  All other aspects of the software were unaffected.  The latest version on our website and on www.tucows.com has fixed this problem.  To solve the problem on your PC, please follow the following steps to refresh your copy of Portfolio Sleuth to the corrected version:

a.) Un-install the existing version of Portfolio Sleuth on your computer by clicking on “Start” on the lower left corner of the screen and then “All Programs” and then “CompassPoint Software Studios” and then “Portfolio Sleuth V1.0”, and then “Uninstall Portfolio Sleuth”

b.) When the Setup Wizard Launches, select “Remove Portfolio Sleuth V1.0” and then click “Finish”. Portfolio Sleuth will then be removed from your PC.

c.) Download a fresh copy of Portfolio Sleuth from http://www.compasspointsoftware.com/portfolio_sleuth.htm

d.) Install the new copy of Portfolio Sleuth as you have done in the past.

e.) You can purchase the software by running Portfolio Sleuth and then invoking the “Buy Now” or “purchase now” options.

Answer:  Yes, it looks like you are missing the .NET Framework version 1.1.4322 from Microsoft.  This can be easily installed from our Compasspoint Software Studios website, however, by clicking on this link HERE.  Please download the .NET Framework and install it prior to installing Portfolio Sleuth.
